[DeTomaso] ???? - Installing offset bushings

You have enough offset bushings to do one pair of a-arms. When I did mine a
decade ago, I installed the thick-flange bushings to the front of the upper
a-arms (both sides). That gave about -4 degrees of camber vs a stock max of
- 2.4. There's no reason you couldn't do only the lowers instead (thick
flanges to the back, though), for about the same effect. I found this gave
not-too heavy steering for a lady driver and plenty of camber increase for the
8" wide front Campys we run. I did later machine 0.080" off the upper ball
joint carrier for an additional 1/2 degree (making -4.6 total), but one can
hardly feel the 1/2 degree extra. I don't recommend doing both uppers and
lowers with offset bushings unless you have a wide-body car with 10" wide
wheels, since that can move the car to -6 or so, which makes for too much steering
effort IMHO. But I DO recommend using poly on all the other a-arms: upper &
lower, front & back. FWIW- J DeRyke
