[DeTomaso] Mininal PC - importing older cars to the USA

Friends, I have a buddy who wasn't to import an older car from another
country ( specifically costa rica)

 

This one happens to be a land rover from the early 70's.I am totally
unfamiliar with the process. I do know that newer cars ( like the detomaso
mini stuff?) are much harder to import or impossible...but the older stuff.

 

Where does he start?
