Trouble is, now you have to be sure that the lever arm broke of it's own
accord, or was there some sort of internal resistance that put more force on
it than it was used to.

Start peeling that onion . . .

Subject: [DeTomaso] Clutch Problem Identified

I finally had some time to look for my clutch problem (had to deal with a
sick daughter all day and it was 104 degree heat index outside (only a sauna
like 87 in the garage).

After dinking around with the slave cylinder I discovered that the clutch
arm would not return all the way (the stop bolt was over an inch from the
stop). I then saw that the clutch pivot arm that clamps to the ZF shaft
had broken at the base of the top clamp. This explains the "snap" I heard
when it broke.

So the good news is that I don't have to pull the ZF and shell out for a new
clutch. The part is ordered so hopefully I get everything working again
next week.

Happy Fourth to everyone.
