There's a gray-market Euro GT5-S for sale at the moment; the owner is in
Canada but the car is in Utah (or it was, anyway, with Brooke Pitt). It has
a rather odd love-it-or-hate-it color combination of yellow with a blue
interior.

Chuck and I viewed and evaluated it when it was for sale in California last
year; it was mechancially pretty sturdy, and cosmetically very rough. The
new owner never took it home; it went to Brooke's shop where he shovelled
money at it for awhile (among other things, the interior was really harsh and
he had it completely redone, it looks beautiful now).

He never got around to tackling the cosmetics. As it stands, it's a
driver with a $2000 paint job, and if you look close, it's a little dog-eared in
the front because one front fender was replaced with a Hall fender, which
doesn't match the factory fender at ALL. It could be fixed by a skilled
hot-rod fabrication shop, at not inconsiderable expense. To be all it could
be, this car really needs to be stripped to metal, the considerable bondo
needs to be replaced by skilled metalcrafting, and then high-quality paint--all
of which would be extremely expensive.

On the other hand, few people would probably notice the finish and
metalwork problems as it stands, and the car would be fine to drive as-is for years
as a nice driver.

The price is probably rather high, at $70K asking. That's a reflection of
what the owner paid for it last year (quite a bit too much, given its
condition at that time) plus the cost of the repairs he's conducted so far.
