[DeTomaso] NPC: Jimmy!

James Garner is indeed a great guy. Every year, for years, we would run into
each other at Indianapolis and head out to watch practice or qualifying
inside the first turn with only maybe 50 ft of grass between us and the
track. He loved it out there. We would stay out there for an hour or so and
then back through the pits. He was genuinely a down to earth guy. His knees
got really bad in the early 90s. It became a struggle for him to walk any
distance. He loved the Indianapolis 500 and drove the pace car three years.

Wonderful guy!

He was apparently a pretty super guy. Sadly, he's been stricken with
Alzheimer's just recently, so even though he's still alive, effectively the
world has lost a great racing hero and all-around good guy. :<(
