Fluidyne says their all-welded aluminum rads are pressure tested up to 24
psi before shipment, but.... what happens is the core tubes 'balloon' which
crushes the finning and restricts air flow, so over-pressure can reduce the
better cooling you paid so much to get. It may not cause a leak in the rad
but the damage is permanent and not repairable. It takes really close
inspection to see ballooned tubes; NASCAR runners sometimes gets this in their
hand-built rads when a head gasket blows at high temp/rpms and the cap doesn't
vent the combustion overpressure fast enough. FWIW- J DeRyke
