[DeTomaso] A/F Gauge- wide or narrow?

Hello Chuck,

The average wide band fuel air ratio gauge is about $250.00 and you need to weld a bung for the O2 sensor into your exhaust. If you have headers the collector is the best place, but you can put it just after the collector and it works the same. I mounted mine in the gauge panel where the radio would go, but if you only want to use it for a quick tune, then there are hand held monitors that will work out very well.

You certainly can do some very fine tuning with a wide band A/F gauge. There is a feature on some of these gauges that will allow you to determine the fuel air ratio at wide open throttle. A good idea to know this because a lean condition at wide open throttle could cause engine damage.

I installed mine and did some very fine tuning with it and gained about two miles per gallon on an 800 mile trip to Colorado last year.
