Here's a link to the timing pointer on my '71: http://www.poca.com/index.php/gallery/?g2_itemId=27357 The bottom line here is that it doesn't matter where the pointer is, as long as TDC has been established and a mark has been placed on the balancer ring (and the hub) that is in line with the tip of the pointer.
