[DeTomaso] in-car fuel tank cleaning?????

It's just my opinion. To each his own.

It's a lot of work to clean out the tank. It is difficult to do with the
tank in the car. It's a lot easier to clean with the tank removed.

By the time you're finished, you may hit $300-$500. What's another $500 for
the peace of mind that you won't spring a leak or have chunks clog your
filter?

I removed my tank, and had it blasted and coated with POR-15. The total
cost was around $500. I didn't do any of the work. I don't have the time
these days.

If I could do it all over again, I'd likely just buy a stainless tank.

The original tank lasted 35 years? Why spend $1000 on stainless? I mean its
not like its out in the open. Just a thought, each to there own.

Good Luck

I would replace it with a new stainless tank.

Yes, it's about $1,000, but worth it.

No, but it's an excellent retrofit, cheap too.
