I make a steel or aluminum ring that bolts
onto the tank and has a hole in the middle for a plastic '80s Ford
pickup
roll-over valve. Hall sells the same thing for $30. Not only is it a
safety
device if you go upside down, its all stock & doesn't leak. Run the
hose to the
air cleaner base.

>>>I prefer not to vent gas tank fumes directly into the carburetor
area. The ramifications of a backfire might be impressive (!)

The stock setup routed the gas tank vent to the charcoal canister on
the passenger side; another hose then connected the canister to the
intake. While it's doubtful that the canister has much function now,
it's certainly safer than just running it directly to Backfire Central.

Currently I have mine just routed straight to the ground; I may install
my charcoal canister this weekend however.
