I have noticed lately several Cleveland's in the 400 dollar range for "good
cores" or rebuildable motors...as stated by the seller, which you have to
consider that FWIW...

Just for some real life examples to offer a feeling for the market:

here is an ad on a set of 2V heads for 125 bucks:

and here is an entire truck running with a 351c from 1983 for 1500 bucks.

and here is an even more promising motor for sale or trade.with 2v heads.no
price.but I'll bet it would be cheap.just a feeling.

in short, around here you can probably get the blocks for next to nothing,
literally 100 bucks for short block and depending on heads, another couple
hundred if you get a good set.

All:

Have a chance to buy a 71 cleveland 2 bolt long block--comes with 70 4V

quench heads

"Low miles " with TRW forged pistons, reconditioned rods & crank. Comp

hydraulic cams & timing chain.

Bored 0.030 and willing to let me bring it to a machinist to check it

out.

If it checks out OK, what would be a good price for the just the heads

only.

How much for the heads and shortblock?

BTW, heads are complete, no cracks, all factory & need freshened with a

valve job.

I value your collective input.

Thanks in advance,

John G.
