Our Pantera member did pay the $30,000 fee but he had
corporate sponsorship. Some of the "Jet set" celebrities paid
there own way but I' am sure many of them received subsidies
from corporate sponsors eager to see their products names
associated with such "cool "people.

It is just that, the only remedy is to be "cool", probably because they
did something spectacular earlier in any way. This will also make
sponsors to open up their wallets with sounds from drums and trumpets.
Myself I do not bother looking for sponsors since they are moderately
interested in serious projects, and a sponsor locks up the freedom by
demanding one to accept a number of less funny activities.
