This is what happens when you deal with a liar

I sold a ZF gearbox on behalf of a customer to Roland Jackel. UPS damaged the ZF during the shipping broke a piece off of the box.

I had to file a claim on the box for repair or replacement.

During this process, the owner of the ZF decided he wanted the box shipped back at his expense and would arrange pick up from Roland, and he would refund all of Roland's money. Roland agreed.

Roland, after many assurances as seen below said he would send the box back after receiving his refund.

Once Roland received the refund, he decided to keep the money and the box.

This is the series of e-mails with Roland Jackel that has gone back and forth that shows Roland is not a man of his word and cannot be trusted.

Anyone dealing with Roland Jackel, Beware.
He cannot be trusted to stand behind his word.

      Roland,
Like any other retailer, the merchandise was damaged in shipment and needs to be return and all money's refunded. This is the owners decision of the box to make, not yours.

I will get you all your money back and have the box picked up after. You can keep the bell housing if you want it or I can arrange for that to be picked up with shipping, your taxes and duty refunded as well. You have also not been charged shipping which I have verified with UPS.

      Jim,
I don't need the bellhouse, so you will get that back as well.
As you can see on the documents, i paid all in all:
Transport duty and taxes for the bellhouse: 266,79 EURO
(could have been saved if shipped with the box)
Duty and taxes for the ZF box: 805,45 EURO ZF Box: 2938,63 EURO
Total: 4010,87 EURO As soon as i have the total back, the box can be
picked up and send where ever you want.

OK, The owner is somewhat concerned about paying for the shipping back
and then it not coming back after you get you money back.
I told him I didn't think he has to worry about it and that you were an honest person and would send it back as promised.

      Jim,
Everything you want, i will do. I can't see, whey you have to give money out of your pocket. Cash the check and send back my money. I only want back my Euro payment. The Euro came down more than 20% since my payment to you. Today you will only have to send back 2993 Euro whitch is 3600.00 USD today.

The Euro loss is your win. But, as i stated before, first money and then shipping !

If you want to give the money to Mike Drew, no problem. You can also paypal me, if you want to have it easier. The only thing, i can't take, is a check from an american bank.

I can't cash those checks here. If the money comes via Mike Drew, i can't send the box out before July 14th. because we stay together at LeMans classics.

      Jim,

The money came in. Thanks for that.
After re thinking this whole situation, i'm not willing to ship the box
back. When the box was damaged, it was in my ownership. The transport went on my risk and on my UPS customers no. It was insured as well on my customers no.
So, the payment of the insurance belongs to me.

      Roland

Note: Roland did not pay for shipping or insurance on the box.
