[DeTomaso] Exhaust coating questions?

Options.....

Jet Hot

Ceramic coating

Powder coating  (same as ceramic?)

Issues:  do the vendors blast and coat the inside and out of the headers?

Do the headers need to be virgin steel or can you give them your old nasty 
headers.....?  OK, not that nasty.....slightly nasty....

I have one set that was treated back in the 70s-80's with that rough aluminum 
coating crap  (electrostatic spray??) that Hall used on his headers......touch 
them with a greasy finger and they stay dirty forever....    This stuff would 
need to be removed.....

Pluses and minuses anyone?????

What holds up, what doesn't?

Chipping/peeling?

Discoloration?
