I refuse to respond on the grounds that I may incriminate myself. :-))

  Art says; <...Glutton for punishment?...>

Now you know that doesn't begin to really communicate who you are or what you do.

Art who I have known for all most 20 years also said

<...For the areas you could reach?...>

Art, YOU are a FIREFIGHTER for gawdsakes. What can't you reach?

The fact that your station assignment for the last 20 years has been in **Beverly Hills** only makes me love and respect you more. The insurmountable challenges you have faced everyday having to knock down security gates and doors to get to suicidal former Hollywood stars laying naked on satin sheets so you can perform CPR is a challenge like no other..... so I can fully understand why it took you all most 2 years to finish polishing that ZF box. Woman in Beverly Hills personally ask for YOU when they call dispatch.

If anyone may wonder why you haven't retired yet perhaps this email will help them understand that for YOU the job comes first....It's a tough job with areas that are hard for most men to get into but someone has got to do it and you do it.

  You are my hero.

Thanks Tom, but don't forget, I am a glutton for punishment! My
advice is, don't do it! For me, it was WAAAAAAY too much work. I think
the time to polish the trans is when it needs to come apart and then let a
professional do it. If I had to do it again, I wouldn't. That being said,
if you are still bound and determined to attempt it, the most valuable tool
I found was a flap wheel. The wheel is used in a drill motor and it
includes many flaps of sandpaper. The thing worked great in the areas it
would reach. One thing to remember is that any scratches you put in the
metal have to come out, so be careful. It is very easy to screw up and
leave deep scratches in your work.
