[DeTomaso] Cam bearing adjustment

I did something yesterday for the first time that attribute to learning
here, from Jack DeRyke. I used an old stock cam to shave a few thou off a
cam bearing.

I had my block prepped by a shop, including cam bearing installation. I
gave them a stock cam to verify the installed cam bearings were all properly
sized and aligned. That was verified when I pick it up. Then, when I went
to put my aftermarket cam in, it bound up in the bearings. It seems those
journals are just a little bigger than the old stock cam. All the run-outs
are good. I cut axial groves in the stock cam journals with a small carbide
end mill. Then put the cam in the block and turned it. It peeled a little
material off the front cam journal only. The lead stayed in the groove. No
chips left behind, no ugly scoring, etc. The aftermarket cam fits perfectly
now.

Awesome. Thanks Pantera Forum, especially Jack today.
