[DeTomaso] Le Mans Classic 2010

Hi all,

1) As Mike states, the organizers of Le Mans will not sell directly to Joe
Public. You need to be a member of the ACO to buy tickets, and the number of
tickets a member may buy is highly limited (between 2 and 6). They don't
want Joe Public scalping tickets I guess. To scalp tickets, you need to be a
Joe Scalping Company, and which costs them substantially more than an
individual membership.
2) Years ago I began using Just Tickets to purchase my Le Mans tickets. They
are an Officially Licensed Scalper, in that the tickets are substantially
marked up. While I resent the markup, they are quite professional and I have
never heard of anyone being stranded or having problems when reserving
through them. Ironically, there are problems almost every year when ACO
members reserve directly through the organization! Therefore the extra money
we pay buys a certain amount of peace of mind as well.
3) I have been unable to find a reliable alternative source of tickets, so I
continue to do business with them.
4) They have been flexible in the past. Jim, you may want to contact them
and tell them you are going by yourself and see what they say. The worst
they can say is "no", but you have a pretty good chance.
5) >Would it make sense for us to purchase the campsites at one time, so

We could do that, but it seems a lot more complicated and I have more
confidence in Just Tickets getting it right than in us getting it right! ;-)
I am not worried about them screwing it up (famous last words). As Mike
says, roughly 6 weeks before the event Just Tickets will assign camping
plots, and will simply group our little happy band together and send the
tickets out.

complicated.

>>>Unfortunately, it's my understanding that this policy still applies--two
tickets in order to get one campsite. Charlie will tell you if that's not
so, but in the brochure he generated, he reiterated that policy.

The policy still applies. But they have been flexible in the past so you can
always ask

BTW, Charlie, how about posting the final version of your event brochure on
the POCA website (or someplace) so that people who haven't previously
attended can see what's on offer and start to make their arrangements?
-snip-
Event brochure was loaded on the POCA site in Novermber and may be found on
http://www.poca.com/index.php/gallery/?g2_itemId=2323&g2_page=2
I don't know how to make it more visible, but I included the link in the
e-mail I sent to the Forum and to everyone who got a dedicated e-mail.

8) Julian- save yourself the $30 shipping fee and have your tickets included
in my envelope and sent to me in Spain. Can't get any cheaper than free! Use
the $30 to buy us beer ;-)
9) I don't remember the rest of the questions...
