If Asa Jay likes this idea, it solves the high postage problem and  
probably makes his job a bit easier:

Have each buyer snail mail a check/money order.

Have the snail mail buyer include a self-addressed-stamped-envelope  
with their payment,

I'd advise including a small piece of cardboard for the tag to be  
taped to, to prevent its bending in handling.

Asa Jay processes the check, tapes the tag to the cardboard, puts it  
in the SASE and mails it back.

Simple. Cheap to the buyer. Easy for Asa Jay.
