They are a flat style gasket with a graphite coating.  No sealer is required.
Mike found they were available at Carquest, BTW.

No the Mr. Gasket 214 (with permatex sealer) would be my second choice.

Yes.  In Mike's case, this is not necessary as his heads do not have an
exhaust cross-over.  Aluminum heads also have a different thermal expansion
rate than iron and present a bigger challenge for sealing (on an iron block).
