Boyd, check the remains of the wheel studs. If someone used an air-gun set 
on 'Gorilla' and overtorqued the lug nuts, the studs stretch, then crack.   
If this happened, the studs may have visibly elongated around the break 
point. You may have to look closely as our wheel studs are hardened and don't 
bend nor stretch much before cracking. Glad you're physically OK- J DeRyke
