I can't see how you could install the trim after the window and gasket is in place.  I think you are having a senior moment.  I too am beginning to have them!

  Let us know what happens when it rains. FWIW, I put the sealant in AFTER the windshield and gasket is in place but before and trim is added. Good luck- J DeRyke
