[DeTomaso] Were these 3 things stock?

The stock braid on the fuel and vent lines were not stainless but
galvanized steel so they have a sort of flat, dusty appearance compared to
stainless-braided aircraft hose you're used to seeing on hot rods. Underneath the
cheap braid is matching cheap rubber hose which has already ruptured on many
"original" Panteras. PLease junk ALL OEM rubber fuel hoses, braided or not, on
your engine before you have an engine fire! That includes the large hose
joining outside fuel fillers on L models. Rubber fuel hoses made after the
early '80s (conicidentally when gas additives became mandatory) are more
resistent to MTBE and alcohol, but still not impervious.
A second difference between stock hoses and aircraft hose is, most aircraft
hose had very high-grade neoprene or teflon tubing under the braid. And
even aged aircraft neoprene hose will harden and crack! If you insist, there
are U.S companies that sell only the braid to stick on any rubber hoses you
care to shield. But they won't have the stock, unattractive flat appearance.
Good luck- J DeRyke
