[DeTomaso] Turn signal no longer self-canceling

What are you talking about?  The canceling device is a mechanical red
plastic cam thingee that looks like a donut with one big ear inside the
steering column.
If that is what you are calling a switch, don't see how you could rebuilt
it, just replace it with another one.
At least on mine, from the sound of your email it sounds like you are
describing some electrical device.
Please educate me on this if I'm incorrect.

Speaking of which and talking about plastic parts I was ain Hobby Lobby the
other day and they sell a plastic piece mold kit where you buy the kit, mix
up tthe goo and form a mold for your original piece, then buy resin ( they
sell lots of different kinds ) and pour it into the mold to make duplicates.
I didn't buy one but I filed it away incase I need to do that one day
because I can't find a part.
