[DeTomaso] MSD lazer A/F gauge

Gentle Readers,
I was wondering if anyone that bought and installed one of those MSD Lazer Air/Fuel gauges has any comments on their performance? Mine went in before this driving season.
My O2 sensor is in the left pipe, just about 9" behind the collector. I followed all the set up directions but the gauge seems to indicate a very rich mixture. 
I have a Demon 650 dp (on a Strip Dominator) that came new from BG through Pace Performance. It was intended for a 330 hp Chevy 350 crate engine (the numbers sounded familiar). The idle screws are at a little less than one turn out. Jets as supplied are 70 P, 78 S and a 6.5 power valve. It has performed great for 2000+ miles since installation this spring. 
The rich indication does not jive with the lack of soot in the tailpipes or the light tan spark plug centers (autolite 25's). I get pretty good mileage too, about 18+ mpg on the highway but with an indicated A/F of barely 14. At idle I see 13.
