[DeTomaso] Pantera content - dual disc clutches

It's 11", with weights. The PN is DF700000.

The weights don't hit anything. I used my original throwout bearing, plus
recently one from Dennis Q. (constant-run??)

The body of the PP hits the plastic inspection cover. I didn't even notice
it. I don't run the plastic cover. Steve Hawkins bought the same PP,
though, and the plastic piece popped out. I checked mine, and it pops out
too.

Here's the e-mail thread from the last time we talked about this:
http://list.realbig.com/pipermail/detomaso/2006-February/069733.html

That thread needs to go in the database.

It looks like DF021057S is probably a better clutch/PP.

A question is whether the Fidanza flywheel will work with DF021057S. It is
well made and only $279-ish. The Fidanza flywheel has at least 2 bolt
patterns drilled. One is the original pattern with 5/16" holes. The other
is for 11" PP's and 3/8" bolts.

BTW, my PP came with dowels. I didn't use them.

Will, on your Centerforce clutch - is it a 10-1/2" made for Mustangs or an
11" assembly? I know both are used and both can be made to fit a Pantera by
redrilling or replacing the flywheel, but I don't know if the clutch cover
assembly is different on the 11". I hadn't heard of ANY interferences with
Centerforce units. Sounds like those sliding weights get VERY close to the
bellhousing 'cause the plastic piece only protrudes a little ways inside.
Incidently, that 'inspection hole' also lets out hot air from around the
friction surfaces, so covering the hole is not a good idea if you drive the
car hard. THanks- J Deryke
