Normally, one of the experienced techs will run your car on their dyno. He
will have lots of instruments at hand and will well know the sounds of
incipent valve float or detonation. If you bring along a brand new set of plug
wires and a set of new spark plugs (and the socket to be used), they will
appreciate it. 351-Cleveland stuff is often not stocked. One of the most common
things that happens during a dyno day is an ignition malfunction 'cause the
car -even stone stock- has so much power, owners often don't realize they
have a bad wire or plug until it starts popping and banging at higher rpms
than normal and having replacements might save your session. Have fun- J
