Agreed. In addition, threads cut into aluminum wear out rapidly. So I used 
1-1/4" long gr-8 allen head setscrews with stainless nuts and a little 
anti-sieze in my SVO heads. In going-on 20 years, no loosening and very economical. 
Smokey Yunick says to put a dab of epoxy on the stud-ends, screw them in 
lightly, add the header and a nut and tighten the nut. This stands the stud up 
straight in the hole as the epoxy cures. If you torque a stud into a head, 
chances are it will lean one way or the other a bit, due to uneven bottoming in the 
threads inside the hole, making it difficult to get a header onto the stud(s)
