FYI, and update on the Littlefield tour status. My wife works at a local college where the history instructor was a pretty good friend of Jacques and would do several tours for staff and friends each year. If i hear of an upcoming tour, and i can sneak some P-people in, i'll let you know...

Subject: Tank Tours: Status after death of Littlefield

Greetings
All:

As
you may know, Jacques Littlefield died of cancer on January 7th.
He was the owner of the tank collection that I have taken students and staff to
for the past 8 years. Jacques was buried in a crypt on his property in
Portola Valley. The mechanic team desperately tried to finish the Panther
tank before he died, but they got the turret on about 4 hours too late.
Jacques’ family had a private ceremony where his casket rode on the back
of his favorite tank up the hill to his burial.

As
to the status of the museum, it will continue to have limited tours, and I will
try to book a couple of Saturday mornings with Mike Green, the tour guide, very
soon. Beyond 2009, we don’t know as yet what will become of the
tank collection. There is a trust fund for the collection, but I am not
privy to the details.

I
will announce the tank tours as soon as I get a confirmed date.
