As you can see, the construction of the bolt head/shank area is identical.   
There is no such 'large radius' that would create a problem.

Note also that for a given grip length, a normal Grade 8 bolt has to be 
purchased in a much longer length.   That means that if you don't buy speciality 
bolts, you will have to cut your hardware store bolts to the proper length.
