Paul,

I followed the instructions as best as possible. When they say 'gasket
sealer', they might be talking about RTV silicone, but rather than using RTV, I
used Permatex High Tack Gasket Sealant (Item #80062) to secure the gasket to the
cylinder heads.

It comes in a 4 oz bottle with a brush in the cap; you basically paint the
surface of the cylinder heads with the stuff and let it sit for a few minutes,
then lay the gasket in place.

Rather than slathering silicone along the end rails, I used the high-quality
gaskets that came with the valley pan gasket, and per the instructions, just
used a bit of the included RTV silicone in the corners. Then lay the intake
manifold down, being careful to position it properly.

At this point, I can't remember if I used the brush-on gasket sealant on both
sides of the gasket, or just between the gasket and the heads, but I suspect
I used it on both sides for greater assurance. They are a one-time-use
gasket, so I'm not worried about wrecking it if I have to take the intake off.

Then slowly torque the intake bolts to spec per the sequence in the shop
manual, and you're done. :>)

Mike
