[DeTomaso] How tough are 15" factory magnesium wheels

Hi all,
I never have used anything else than stick on weights on the inside of the wheel, + very sticky race tape.
Centrifuge force will even press the weight harder. 
The cleaning step is indeed mandatory, and you also have to hand turn the wheel to check that nothing is in the way. The space between the weight and the caliper can be as little as 2 millimiters with GR4 race calipers and 15 inch mag wheels. But 2 mill is enough, isn't it ?
