There you would find the answer... 3.5 quarts.  (and my recommendation of fluid)

You will also see a photo of one owner and his handful of ALL 10 broken-off ring-gear
bolts...  The new ones are now safety-wired...  His car functioned "somehow" without
the ring-gear secured...

What's the oil capacity of a type 2 ZF?
What's the torque spec for the 2  bungs/plugs.

I looked in the owners, service and ZF manuals.
I can always fill to the side hole level,
 but starting out with the right amount would be nice.
