[DeTomaso] "thar she blows!"...

What undoubtably happened is, one of the hoses near the right header got
cooked until it picked that particular time to blow. The mist is compressor
oil. Panteras are like that: one was being 'topped up at PPC-Reno with
expensive R-12 last year and while Larry was unhooking the gauges from the back of
the compressor, the car chose that moment to rupture and dump all its oil in
his face.... I suggest getting whoever will be making up your new lines to
route them as far away from the header as humanly possible- even if it takes
drilling holes for new clamps to hold them well away. Note also that BOTH
low and high-pressure lines can and have blown there so I'd consider
replacing both. A safety switch is also a good addition to disconnect the compressor
clutch if pressures go up past a set point; A/C shops sell these. Good
luck- J Deryke
