OIl brands, like whiskey, women and spark plugs, are largely a matter of 
personal choice. I've run Sears brand 10W30 bulk truck oils in all knds of 
engines at high speeds and low, I've run synthetic oils in hard working turbo 
engines, and thin oils in air cooled motorcycle engines and I've not had any 
oil-related problems ever. The worlds best oil will not save your engine if 
something goes mechanically wrong, but if its all mechanically good, cheap 
oil will work just fine. Run the brand your Dad told you to use and watch 
your gauges.
