[DeTomaso] Fuel Gauge Saga

Okay guys, I pulled the rear window and the sending unit.  Put the unit in a
vice and ran the range with an Ohm meter. It worked, but was hit and miss.
Then I cleaned the inside of the sending unit and tried again. worked great.

I decided to try the unit with the car wiring but not mounted in the tank.
Worked great.

Put the unit in the tank but without the bolts.  Gauge read empty.  I can
clearly see the tank is half full.

Turns out the float is leaking and is full of gas.

Repair the float or replace it?????
