[DeTomaso] Why 2 different styles of front L type bumpers?

Rumor has it that with a full moon one can still see small pieces of fiberglass floating around in the central valley breeze.

I saw the remnants of Peter Kovacs's bumper after he took his Pantera
out cow tipping one night.  The bumpers are largely just decorative.

The differences in bumpers that I am referring to are all the rubberized
factory style. I do not believe them to be fiberglass unless Hall
Pantera also incorporated the classic "waviness with age" look into
their fiberglass replacements. That is highly unlikely.

I do.

Many cars are wearing fiberglass replacement L-model bumpers from Hall
Pantera.  The mold shrunk, and the bumpers he's made for the past 15-20
years are physically smaller than they were originally (and smaller than
the original bumper was).  The original bumper was perfectly flush with
the fender.  Hall's very clearly don't fit right.

This looks a little weird, but as more and more people switch to them,
the ones that look 'correct' are now the ones that look a little weird!
