Congrats on the QFT. I used QFT for the 2x4 Holleys on my 428 Mustang.
They were great.

In case you're interested, I found a local speed shop that has carb
linkages. They screw in to the cable linkage that I think I bought from
Pantera East. It's a slightly different design. It is spring loaded, so
the ball comes right out (the part you pressed together). You probably know
exactly what I'm talking about. Everyone else is going - Hunh?!?

If you want one, I can stop by and pick one up. I think it was about $20.

If you have a speed shop locally that caters to dirt trackers, they probably
have the same part. The speed shop near me is called Smiley's Racing.

Will.

Hi all,

Just updating my situation from last month when I asked all of you for help
on selecting a new Carb.
Thanks again to everyone who chimed in, that's why I stay on the list, there
is no excuse for
not helping each other so we don't all have to make the same mistakes
individually.

I had asked about Demon, Eldebrock, Holley, etc.
Lots of stories pro and con on several, some based on friends and others
based on personal experience ( which always rates higher ) I was truly
concerned with Customer service issues, that seems to be a commodity in
short supply nowadays.
I called Quick Fuel Technologies, they were most generous with their time
and the feedback from others on this unit was great.
You know how many vendors sorta act like a dick when you ask a lot of
questions and then don't buy anything on that call?
Well that's one of my pet peeves, people DO call back and many vendors
should know that everybody doesn't suffer from immediate gratification
disorder and some of us do research before shelling out our money. QFT
wasn't like that and aside from the forum feedback and the cool looking
billet colored parts I truly value building a relationship with vendors who
act like they care.

So even if you really don't care - fake it and get more business, it works.

I decided upon the QFT SS830 which was built for me based upon my engine
specs, each is run on a test engine before it leaves the factory ( and yes,
mine smelled like gas ).

It ran well out of the box and I'll be dialing it in over the next few
weeks.

meanwhile, here's a link to some photos of the unit
