Tricky business, advising specifics when the actual part is unknown. but 
generally, if the booster in the car is stock, that takes care of the rod between 
the booster diaphragm and the pedal (sets the pedal height). There's a second 
rod between the booster and the master cylinder; you push the master cylinder 
against the booster with the rod in position. If the MS wants to pop away from 
the booster, you shorten the rod or shim the MS where it bolts on, by that 
amount with a little clearance. Finally, in some adapter plates, there's a 
plastic bushing supporting thre second rod. This must be a loose fit. If the 
bushing is too tight, it will grab the rod when things heat up, siezing the brakes 
in the 'ON' position. Good luck- J Deryke
