Ford determined that the ZF wasn't strong enough to be used in the GT40 Mk 
II, equipped with a 485 hp 427 side-oiler.   That is, it wouldn't survive 24 
hours of flat-out driving at Le Mans.

But in a street car?   You simply can't build a motor strong enough to hurt a 
ZF in my view.   That is, unless you are deliberately abusive to the thing, 
i.e. speed-shifting without the clutch, drag-race launches, etc.
