[DeTomaso] A presentation on race oil basics from Joe Biggs Oil

Chris,

My guess is that Joe Biggs oil is a name brand synthetic that he adds ZDDP
to for racing use. Anybody know more about his oil?

As for what to do, here's my opinion FWIW:

If you had an $8,000 (or greater value) engine in your car with a flat
tappet cam, I recommend the Joe Biggs oil at $9/qt.

If you had a roller cam, I recommend Mobil 1 15W50 synthetic at $4.50/qt.

But yours is a flat tappet cam in a stock 351C (with more than 50K miles on
it?), go with the Rotella at $3.50/qt.

Oil

Lets see, If you have a 10qt oil pan, why not just use 3qts shell, 3qts
synthetic, and 3qts Joe Briggs and1qt multi blend? maybe the best of all
worlds?

No really anyone have a idea about blending two oils?

OK, so here I was, ready to start using Shell Rotella 30 wt, and now I read
this...has there ever been a consensus for which is better, the Shell or the
synthetic stuff listed here? My 351 is fairly stock, so does that make a
difference?

Sure appreciate your feedback.

Thanks,

Chris
