Thinking outside the box, I positioned the shoulder strap bar on the engine side of the window crossmember and anchored it in 5 places through the reinforced crossmember. 

If it doesn't hold me in the car after a frontender then it really won't matter at that point seeing how I'll have a 351C up the wazoo. I had to shave it slightly for distributor cap clearance. Works for me.
