[DeTomaso] Engine Mounts

I recently got new rubber for my engine mounts. There are 4 of them, two 
for each mount. They are built with a larger metal washer on one side.

If this '|0' is an individual rubber mount, where '|' is the washer and 
'0' is the rubber.

My question is do I place the washers in the mounts:

A) together, like this  0| |0

B) apart, like this |0 0|

C) facing upwards, like this  0| 0|

D) facing downwards, like this  |0 |0

or E) it simply doesn't matter

I think they are supposed to be apart, but I simply can't remember their 
orientation when I took them apart months ago.
