[DeTomaso] Rear seal change with engine in the car?

Both main seals can be R & R-ed with the engine in the car. 
The ZF does NOT need to be screwed with at all to R & R a rear main seal. 
Drop the pan remove the rear main cap; half the seal is in the cap. The other 
half is wrapped around the rear main journal and can be TAPPED around the journal 
with a non-metal tapping tool & a small hammer. Metal drivers or brutality 
will scar the journal, requiring an engine overhaul. The new seal goes back in 
the same way with the same tools. Elapsed time : about 1 hr.
An OEM front main seal has a lip on it to help pry it out from the front with 
a big screwdriver, once the crank pully and harmonic balancer are off. 
Replacement seals no longer have that lip so some care is needed to NOT drive the 
new seal clear thru into the oil pan. Good luck to Marcus- J Deryke
