  not true in my case (72 Pre-L). I dropped the steering column, removed the ingition assembly, took it to a locksmith and they cut a key for me. It was around $50...about half of what it costs to have them come out and do it.
   
  Steve, are you referring to a goose? Perhaps that's different...
