[DeTomaso] Jay Lenos E85 powered Vette

Am I wrong in remembering something that I read said that cars not
originally equipped for E85 risk damage to gaskets, seals, o rings etc.
Esp. in a carb.equipped car like most Panteras?  Because the alcohol
supposely eats away at parts not designed for it?
