I am 75% complete on installing an electric S2000 system in my  '74.

This installation takes major of modification and  fabrication. Not for the 
faint of heart.
 
An alternative is an electro hydraulic system: electric pump  and hydraulic 
rack and pinion.
 
If your friend is going to do this, let me know. I have  done considerable 
research on the subject.
