IMHO, the first book to read and the best book on Holley  carbs is Holley 
Carburetor Handbook 4150/4160 by Mike Urich (ISBN  0-89586-047-3). This book is 
very concise yet illustrates and explains how each  circuit in a Holley works 
and how the circuits interact. The book costs $11  at amazon.
 
This book explains the circuits so clearly it would be a good thing  to read 
before you use the DVD.
