David,
I guess it would matter if by not going in he means it grinds (I am correct)
or it does not find the gear at all (the rest of the forum is right).

I'm in the Gray Forrest camp - it also shifts, does it not, r/1/2/3 when
hot?
In my little world, all gears points to clutch whereas some gears
indicates a linkage issue.
That's my final answer and I'm locking it in!
