[DeTomaso] Brake Caliper Question

Also, it's worth the $50 to take it to your local Les Schwab or other tire
shop and have them do a pressurized bleed of the brakes. Just be sure
before you go that you tell them that you have limited ground clearance to
be sure they can get you up on a lift. The difference in pedal feel and
brake response is way beyond what you can do with an old fashioned home
bleed job.

The pistons don't need to move very far. How much is "a limited amount"?

You could have a leak at the master, air in the line, or just poor old pads.

Assuming you already have nice, clean brake fluid and have bleed it well,
try popping in a new set of Porterfield pads.

Subject: [DeTomaso] Brake Caliper Question

The pistons in my original brake calipers, when removed from the rotor, but
with hydraulics attached , only move a limited amount. Could anything other
than corrosion in the caliper be limiting their movement ? Any suggestions
for repair. Braking power on the car is not great.

Thanks,
