Chris -
Others on the list have their unit working properly, so it CAN work. That
being said, mine doesn't either.
I'm curious as to how you installed it.
I installed one on my car a few months back and haven't got it working yet.
I suspect one of the two causes you name.
I've got pretty stiff dual-springs on the carb return, which probably
doesn't help. I haven't gotten around to removing a spring for testing
purposes.
What are you using for a vacuum source? Brake line? PCV line? Port on the
carb/intake?
The wiring is all correct, as the lights do their thing during the test
mode... So I am suspecting that there isn't enough uumph to pull the
throttle lever, either due to insufficient vacuum or the force required to
overcome the springs.

Asunto: [DeTomaso] cruise control question
A few weeks ago I installed an audiovox cruise control which didn't work, so
I sent it back and got a replacement. After checking and rechecking all the
wiring, I installed the second one, and it doesn't work either. It's not
totally dead, however, as the first one was.
What this one does do, if I turn it on and continually tap the "accel"
button, is try to accelerate in spurts, only to immediately disengage when I
stop tapping. Trying to just hit the "set" button yields no results
whatsoever.
I think either there's not enough vacuum, or the throttle spring is too
stiff for the unit to handle. Before I call the Audiovox technical line I
thought I'd see if any of you other Pantera owners have any suggestions.
Thanks for your help!
Sincerely,
Chris
